Many industries place a high value on hygienic and clean tools and applications. In the context of the food industry’s demands for dependable, efficient, and easy-to-maintain drive solutions, Nord Drivesystems offers a wide array of options to support the reliable implementation of hygienically sensitive applications.

The nsd tupH process developed by the company makes drive surfaces very corrosion-resistant, similar to stainless steel. This treatment based on an electrolytic process creates a protective layer that is permanently bonded to the substrate material, which ensures that nothing can detach or flake off. Drives with this surface treatment are largely resistant to acids and alkalis and can be cleaned reliably and hygienically.

The new IE5+ motor generation was designed with a special focus on its use in the food or beverage industry as well as the intralogistics sector. The motor generation is available in both fanless and smooth versions up to a power of 4.0 kW with a continuous torque from 1.6 to 18.2 Nm and speeds from 0 to 2,100 min-1. The smooth-surface and hygienic design of the fanless variant is efficient, easy to clean, corrosion-resistant and wash-down capable. The compact and energy-efficient synchronous motors show up to 95% efficiency over a wide torque range.

The Safomi-IEC adapter was specially developed for mixers as well as agitators and has an integrated oil expansion chamber. This provides the Maxxdrive industrial gear units with advantages such as increased reliability and reduced maintenance. Compact and simple in design, the adapter has an integrated oil expansion volume. Oil tanks and hoses as well as the radial shaft seal that is subject to leakage and wear between gear unit and cylinder are not required.

The AMP8620 supply module and the AMP8805 distribution module are now also available with an extended voltage range for the AMP8000 distributed servo drive system from Beckhoff. There is also an additional option for controlling the holding brake for the AMP80xx distributed  servo drive.

Sustainable, Cost-Effective, and Straightforward
Sustainable, Cost-Effective, and Straightforward

By switching to coating-free gearmotors, SEW‑Eurodrive is taking an important step toward making its product portfolio more sustainable. With no paint or coatings involved, production costs are reduced during manufacture and components are easier to recycle in the circular economy at the end of the product life cycle. These gearmotors are therefore an environmentally friendly, cost-effective solution for many drive tasks.

Support for the 1.5-Degree Path in Climate Protection

Endress+Hauser has reached another milestone in the area of sustainability: The Science Based Targets Initiative has confirmed the Group’s greenhouse gas reduction targets. Both the medium-term target for 2034 and the net-zero target for 2050 are therefore in line with the 1.5 degree pathway of the Paris Climate Agreement and correspond to current scientific findings.
