A special competition combines a production milestone with a charity campaign for children in need. Combilift used the manufacture of its 100,000th forklift for a charity campaign in support of Unicef.
The Irish intralogistics manufacturer Combilift launched a worldwide campaign to mark the production of its 100,000th forklift. The company offered the exclusive multidirectional Combi-CBE as the main prize in a competition and donated all proceeds to Unicef’s Children’s Emergency Fund.
The campaign generated 56,500 euros through ticket sales, and at the official cheque presentation, Combilift topped up the amount to 100,000 euros. Martin McVicar, CEO and co-founder of Combilift, emphasised that the campaign not only celebrated an important manufacturing milestone but also made a meaningful contribution beyond the production floor.
Support for children in crisis areas
Owen Buckley, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Unicef Ireland, accepted the donation together with Michaela Plunkett, Business Development Manager, at the company headquarters in Monaghan. Buckley explained that the donation helps Unicef respond quickly to urgent needs of children affected by war and natural disasters.
The golden forklift was won by Kareen Farrell, who travelled to Monaghan specifically to receive the unique prize. She expressed her enthusiasm about winning and noted that her father had bought the ticket to support Unicef and its work helping children worldwide.
International attention through trade show presence
The golden forklift was first presented at the IMHX exhibition in the UK and subsequently shown on a European trade show tour. This underscored both Combilift’s international reach and the campaign’s charitable mission.
