A new production plant in Taicang expands Beumer Group’s global manufacturing capacity and underlines the company’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market. The opening coincides with the 20th anniversary of Beumer China.

The new manufacturing facility in Taicang covers a land area of approximately 33,350 square metres with a production area of around 23,000 square metres. This is distributed across two large workshops and additional auxiliary buildings. Construction began in July 2024 and was completed in June 2025, representing a construction period of just twelve months.

The facility is fully integrated into Beumer’s global manufacturing network and enables the company to serve customers in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide more efficiently. In parallel with establishing the new site, Beumer Group founded two new Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprises in Taicang to anchor the expanded operations.

Two decades of growth in China

The opening of the production facility marks the culmination of a 20-year development of Beumer China. The company initially established itself in the Chinese market in 2005 with a single product line. Since then, the presence has steadily developed into a comprehensive organisation that offers a complete solution portfolio for various industries.

The spectrum ranges from baggage handling systems for airports to logistics systems and overland conveyor technology as well as equipment for the cement, minerals and mining industries. Beumer China’s workforce has grown from modest beginnings to around 400 employees today, reflecting the sustained success of the solutions in the Chinese market.

Modern and sustainable manufacturing

The new plant in Taicang is designed as a modern, digital manufacturing base that meets Beumer’s global standards for innovation and sustainability. The facility features state-of-the-art production technology and follows smart factory principles to increase efficiency and ensure high quality of all products manufactured on site.

Beumer Group built the facility with sustainability and future readiness in mind to minimise the environmental impact of production. By establishing a modern, environmentally conscious production centre in China, the company supports both national and global sustainability goals and prepares the facility for future industry developments.

The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility strengthens the ability to serve customers in China and the region with even more responsive support.

Through investing in local manufacturing and deploying advanced digital production techniques in China, Beumer strengthens its role as a long-term partner for customers in the region. The company offers technologically advanced solutions as well as the reliability of local support and supply.

In the technical realm, “nano” means ten to the power of negative nine, or one billionth. In addition, parts even smaller than this are possible – for example, the intricate shapes that come out of the NanoOne 3D printer from UpNano. To produce these, light particles are fired at the starting material. This is a process that plays out over a range of thousandths of a millimeter. So that the substrate can be precisely aligned here, three compact, high-performance motors from Faulhaber ensure the correct position.
