Machine Protection for greater Process Reliability

At EMO Hanover 2025, Hema presented itself as an industry partner for machine protection. With its portfolio of safety systems for machine tools, the company showed how it offers individually adaptable concepts that address the most pressing issues in metalworking: increased process reliability for long-lasting machines, shorter downtimes, and higher productivity.

Bellows: Tailor-made protection systems

Hema bellows increase process reliability by protecting against contamination and extend the operating time of production machines. They also protect operating personnel from accidental intervention. At EMO, Hema provided information about its wide range and the versatility of this protection system. Visitors learned in person how Hema designs bellows to suit specific machine geometry, travel speed, or process temperature. The manufacturer’s portfolio also includes backwall systems, roof covers as well as partition wall systems for tooling machines.

Vision systems: Clear view of the machine interior

Hema also focuses on its machine safety windows and Spinvista, which provide a best view of machine processes. This simplifies setup procedures and troubleshooting. The machine safety screens are manufactured in customized sizes and protection classes as laminated panels made of safety glass and polycarbonate and are sealed all around. With the Spinvista rotating window, a rotating panel on the inside of the machine repels chips and coolant at 2,300 revolutions per minute, thus offering a clear view of the machining process. Machine safety screens can be equipped with Spinvista rotating windows ex works. This can be done, for example, when the panels are replaced during maintenance or when retrofitting a machine.

Pneumatic clamping systems: High clamping forces for safe production

For the reliable clamping of an axis or a moving mass, Hema offers its RotoClamp clamping systems for rotary applications, LinClamp for linear guides, and PClamp for bar loads. These pneumatic systems offer high clamping forces and, with their fail-safe function, also feature: If the compressed air fails, the axis or load is at once and securely clamped. These systems are a cost-effective alternative to hydraulic clamping systems, as compressed air is available in mostly every industrial plant.

Efficient Multi‑Screen Solutions from R. Stahl

In modern production and administrative environments, companies often operate multiple systems in parallel, for example for order management, production control and process monitoring. As the demand for information directly at the workplace continues to grow, a single screen is often no longer sufficient. Depending on a company’s IT security concept and network structure, different technical approaches are required. To address this, R. Stahl has developed two practical solutions.
