The trade magazine "Chip", together with its partner Globis Management Consulting, has evaluated the Göppingen-based press manufacturer Schuler for the number and quality of patents filed.

Together with its partner Globis Management Consulting, the trade magazine “Chip” examined patent applications for “digitally relevant new developments” from 2018 to 2020. Of around 2,000 German companies, only one in ten made it to the shortlist. This includes the Göppingen-based press manufacturer Schuler, which can now call itself “Digital Innovator 2022”.

“This award is a recognition of the work we have done to network forming technology,” said a delighted Chief Digital Officer Rohitashwa Pant, who accepted the award on behalf of Schuler. The company first presented a whole package of solutions a year ago with its “Digital Suite”. These include cloud services for monitoring operating status, press force, energy requirements, or cooling and lubrication circuits, the “Visual Die Protection” (“VDP”) system, “Track & Trace” for tracking components, and “Smart Assist” for support at the start of production.

“We are constantly advancing the Digital Suite to improve the productivity and availability of our customers’ plants even more,” announces Rohitashwa Pant. The latest example is the further development “VDP Analyzer”, which can be used to examine possible causes of errors in press shops on a detailed basis and avoid them in the future.

In modern production and administrative environments, companies often operate multiple systems in parallel, for example for order management, production control and process monitoring. As the demand for information directly at the workplace continues to grow, a single screen is often no longer sufficient. Depending on a company’s IT security concept and network structure, different technical approaches are required. To address this, R. Stahl has developed two practical solutions.
