With the introduction of a wide range of products from the leading technology and solutions provider in industrial communication, the distributor is significantly expanding its offerings for its customers in the field of factory automation. Hilscher is relying on the distributor to address additional customer segments.
RS offers Hilscher unique access to a broad range of target groups in the areas of development, automation, and maintenance. As a specialist for small and medium-sized volumes, the distributor has particular expertise in regularly addressing customers and their specific needs, as well as in logistical efficiency. In addition, it offers solutions, for example, for process cost optimization, that are specifically tailored to this segment.
With Hilscher products and solutions, machines worldwide communicate with each other quickly and securely, ensuring production and processes run smoothly. From hardware to the cloud, Hilscher enables Industry 4.0. This opens up entirely new connectivity possibilities, giving customers access to a larger market. Hilscher’s core products are the multi-protocol netX communication controllers, modules based on them such as embedded modules, cifX PC cards, and the netFIELD edge management platform.
RS customers will find almost the entire product range of Hilscher System Networking Components in the web shop. This also includes the cifX PC card family for real-time Ethernet and fieldbus. The wide variety of controller and device protocol firmware versions is particularly noteworthy. They are available in a wide variety of form factors and with all the necessary drivers. This represents the largest variety on the entire global market. Siemens-specific versions for the SIMATIC IPC series are also available. Of course, the netTAP, netLINK, and netHOST gateway families, as well as the special variants netSWICH and SmartWire-DT gateways, are also available. For example, RS customers can order the netTAP 151 with all Real-Time Ethernet conversions (controller and device combinations).
In addition to gateways and PC cards, RS’s Hilscher portfolio also includes the IO-Link Wireless Master. This makes RS one of the few pioneers in POCs for IO-Link wireless applications. Also worth mentioning is the netMIRROR Ethernet Test Access Point, as well as the entire field of Managed Industrial IoT with the sensorEDGE Edge IO-Link Master and other Edge Gateways. Here, too, there’s something special. With the Edge IO-Link Master, machine data from the field can be made available directly in IoT applications.
